Hello from Simple Yak of Lake Gaston!!

We have been part time members of the Lake Gaston Community since 2022, when we purchased a piece of property in Gasburg, Virginia. Our goal is to build our dream home on that property and we hope one day our business with Simple Yak will allow us to do just that!

We first dabbled into the kayak rental business last year around our fulltime home in Greenville, NC. We learned a few things and decided we would rather bring our adventure to the beautiful Lake Gaston, instead of the ever flowing Tar River!

Kayaking should be relaxing, full of beautiful scenery and in the event you would like to fish instead of gazing into the beauty, it should be able to be easily done around your favorite fishing spots! And none of that is an easy thing to do when the river is trying to always take you away from your location!

So now we bring you the inception of Simple Yak of Lake Gaston! We strive to bring you the best customer service during your entire rental process, while providing you and your family/friends a safe, fun experience on Lake Gaston! We offer both recreational and fishing kayaks, as we want to focus on the best resources of Lake Gaston…the beauty and the bounty of fish!! Almost every one of our kayaks can be turned into a fishing kayak, so if that’s your goal, we have you covered!! We also offer a few special amenities you won’t get from a big time power boat rental business! Like a safety orange 10 liter dry bag and cell phone protector provided with every rental, which includes a first aid kit and safety equipment incase you need help while out on the lake! We also offer fishing gear at an affordable price, so incase you are on vacation and don’t normally fish, but would like to try without investing the money in equipment! And we wouldn’t be complete in the fishing department if we also didn’t offer bait! We can provide you with live bait at the time of your kayak delivery, just add it to your cart during your reservation! Heck, if you run out on the lake, for an extra fee, we can bring you some more bait to the closest lake location, so you don’t have to leave the Lake and maybe lose the hot spot!! (You don’t have to rent a kayak to get this service, just give us a call (252-375-8223))
